General PaddleThe Mid-section of the Clinton River, between River Bends & Heritage Parks, is home to our most popular run! This 2 hour trip on this section ends at Heritage Park, and offer paddlers (some) of the best of the Clinton River. With a steady current, and several turns paddlers get a feel for the Mighty Clinton River, then paddle downstream into waters with great beaches and swimming, phenomenal fishing, and plenty of park area for play-all with an up-north feel! Great for group outings, too.

Intermediate PaddlesLevel 1- This is a 3 hour paddle, from Yates Dam to Heritage Park, and includes a portion of the General Paddle offering paddlers the other portion of the best part of the river! What sets this longer trip apart as intermediate, is the faster current (elevation is still leveling out as the river enters Macomb County) and greater technicality than farther downstream. This section takes paddlers past the cider mill, and through the beautiful Great Blue Heron Rookery. Home to serene beaches, and great fishing opportunities, close to home, but far away...
Level 2- The upper section of the river, between Auburn Hills and Livernois Road, is an intermediate level paddle due to the tight turns and narrowness of the river. We offer 2 and 4 hour trips on this section, through areas of vast wildlife, in serene and secluded areas. The current on this section runs faster than Level 1, and with tight turns and high technicality, experience is necessary. This section can become an experienced paddle when water levels are up too high, and again when they are too low. This section also loses large volumes of water in July/August making for a very difficult paddle- Please call ahead to inquire about water levels and availability. We do not recommend this river trip for children under 14 years of age (water levels depending).
*All sections above Yates Dam require experience* |
